Children are the focus of this annual Faire, but even the adults can be seen having a great time! Kids enjoy games and prizes, a climb up the climbing wall, a trip through the Bouncy Castle and rides on the ponies. Great food is served at the Country Cafe and who can resist a visit to the Sugar Shack, where treats and goodies of all kinds are found! Family Support Services of West Hawaii are our partners in the fun and their Early Head Start program shares in the proceeds.
Traditionally regarded as one last chance to enjoy a feast before the beginning of Lent - Mardi Gras is a favorite at Christ Church. Members dressed in costumes and masks join the parade through the Community Center and compete in the costume contest before enjoying a delicious Cajun meal. Of course, the children all look forward to knocking down the pinata and emptying it of it's treasure!
Each year, Christ Church continues the tradition begun in 1998 of honoring our founders, Queen Emma and Kamehameha IV with an Hawaiian Evening Prayer service and the Queen Emma Luau. Our partners in this event, Punana Leo O Kona, contributes their expertise by preparing an authentic Hawaiian luau menu. The keiki of the preschool open the luau with a performance created especially for the event and then the music and dancing begins. Proceeds from the evening benefit Punana Leo O Kona Preschool and Christ Church outreach programs.
auction tent is fast and furious! Proceeds from this benefit bash are shared with local non profit organizations and also help support Christ Church outreach programs.
