On March 26 the Reverend Dr. Richard Tardiff assumed his new role as the new rector here. Reverend Tardiff comes to Kona from the Parish of St. Andrew and St John in Southwest Harbor, Maine, where he was rector for 3 years. The ministry is a second career for Fr. Tardiff, who retired in 2000 from a long career in public education in the state of Alaska, where he worked as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. Fr. Tardiff has a doctorate in Educational Leadership and well as his Masters of Divinity degree from the Divinity School of the Pacific, and a Masters in Counseling from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. Fr. Dick and his wife Pamela, herself a retired educator, lived on Oahu during the early 1980's and are thrilled to be back in the Islands!
